Passport, birth certificate, divorce certificate if you had been married before, all documents have to be translated into Spanish by a sworn translater and certified by the embassy. ( in Germany: Hardenbergstraße 12/ D- 10623 Berlin). This all needs to be done before travelling to Paraguay. After your wedding you will receive a marriage certificate which also needs to be certified by the embassy. This can take up to 14 days. After your journey you hand in your wedding papers to get them legalized in your home town. The price for the translation and legalization of your marriage certificate from the German consulate in Paraguay is about 100 US$ and needs to be paid from the bride and bridegroom right away.
